How to Create a Cadence from a Template
Cadences are crucial for maintaining structured and consistent communication with your prospects and customers. They enable you to automate follow-ups, nurture relationships, and guide leads through the sales funnel effectively. By using cadences, you can ensure timely and personalised interactions, which enhance engagement, improve response rates, and ultimately drive better sales outcomes. With well-designed cadences, your team can manage outreach efficiently, freeing up time for more strategic activities and fostering stronger customer relationships.
This guide will help guide you on how to create a cadence from a template. This feature allows you to build effective cadences quickly and efficiently by using pre-designed templates tailored for various scenarios.
Getting Started with your Creating Cadences:
To get started, navigate to the “Cadences” tab and select the “Create” option. Here, you can choose to create a cadence from scratch or use a template. For this guide, we'll focus on creating a cadence from a template.
In the template selection area, you will find options for inbound sales templates, outbound sales templates, re-engagement templates, and email-only templates. Choose the type that best suits your needs. For example, if you select an inbound sales template, click on “Select Template” to begin.
Updating your Cadence Settings:
Start by giving your cadence an internal name and defining the goal of your cadence, such as "Demo Booked" or "Won Deal." Specify the delivery schedule for emails, choosing between weekdays (Monday to Friday) or every day (including weekends).
You also have a range of “Advanced Settings” to choose from, starting with the cadence owner and type of cadence, whether its a team cadence, or private for the user creating the cadence.
Next, if a user has opted out of calls, you can choose to either exclude them from call steps, close the deal, or delete the deal entirely. Similarly, if a user does not have a phone number, you have the option to exclude them from call steps, include them in the steps as usual, close the deal, or delete the deal. Additionally, you can set the time zone for sending, either based on the prospect’s time zone or the dashboard’s time zone.
If a deal reaches the end of a cadence without a response or bounce, you may want to recycle these contacts by adding them to a list for future cadences. Choose the list where you want these contacts added, making them available for reuse.
You can activate tracking for email opens, clicks, and replies. For instance, if someone replies to an email, you might automatically remove them from the cadence and choose to send them to Salesforce, HubSpot, or add them to a list. You can also add them to another cadence, create an ad hoc activity, send an email notification to yourself, or add them to a workflow. If a prospect successfully books a demo or has a positive conversation, similar actions can be taken, such as moving them to another cadence or integrating with your CRM.
Cadence throttling allows you to control the number of prospects added to the cadence. For example, you might limit the total number to 10,000 or onboard only 100 new prospects per day. The automatic step reassignment feature is useful if the current owner is unavailable; you can easily change the deal owner and reassign the cadence.
Updating your Cadence Steps:
Once you’ve set up your cadence, you will see a template with the number of steps over a specified period, such as 30 days, and the percentage that is automated.
Toggle the content view to access our smart assistant, which helps you generate content. For instance, you can input the company name, offering, pain point, value proposition, and call to action, then click “Generate.” The AI tool provides content that you can use or edit, whether for a LinkedIn connect step, an outreach email, or phone scripts.
The AI assistant supports you throughout the cadence creation process. If you prefer to write your own content, you can type in your subject line and use personalised tokens, such as the contact’s first name. If you want to implement spintax settings, select the appropriate options to customise greetings.
After finalising your cadence, save it as a draft to review everything. You can view the cadence in the draft planner area, make any necessary changes, and then publish it. You can always return to the settings or the cadence builder to adjust content as needed.
