How to Setup up Intent Settings
Intent settings are a core element of your prospecting journey. In this area you will have the ability to define the companies you want to sell to based on Company size, Industry and location. Specify your target persona and select from a range of buying signals that indicate if a company is searching for what you sell or have a need for a problem that your company solves.
Getting Started with your Intent Settings
To start managing your Intent Settings, navigate to “Settings,” select “Intent Settings,”
Here, you will find all of the settings in one place.
Start to build your target companies.
First you’ll see at the top left of this screen “1. Select your Target Companies:” Start by configuring the company sizes you wish to target. Click on the ‘pen icon - edit’ button to select those settings which range from ‘1-10 through to 10,000+’
Simply check the sizes you wish to include and if you wish to remove any selected, simply click the x beside the configured setting
Once happy with the settings simply click “update”
Start to build your target companies.
Next you’ll see on the bottom left of this screen “2. Select your Target Persona:”
This area is important to determine the people you would like to target/ sell to. This is split by Seniority AND department OR job title. (Best practice is either to use specific job titles or specify the seniority and department of the people you will be targeting)
To configure/ make changes to these filters simply select the “edit” button with the pen icon to do so. Here you can also exclude job titles that you don’t want to view.
Finally you want to specify where you would like these people to be located. To configure this, select the “edit” button beside location, select your chosen countries.
Getting started with data configuration
In this section you will be organising all of the buyer intent signals that you want to track. Beside each of the areas there will be an “i” which if you hover over will give a synopsis of what that data source will be tracking.
Topics:
This section is created from a list of topics:
“Topic intent pinpoints companies who are consuming a higher than normal level of content on specific topics across over 5,000 B2B content sites, indicating that companies are researching those products or services”
In this section you can search the topic dictionary for topics that you wish to track. Best practice is to type a keyword and allow the dictionary to bring back other relevant topics that may also be of interest.
Content:
This section is created from a list of content topics.
“Content Intent identifies in-market accounts and specific engaged contacts on the buying team who have downloaded content assets”
In this section you can search the content dictionary for content categories that you wish to track. Best practice is to type a keyword and allow the dictionary to bring back other relevant categories that may also be of interest.
Competitors:
This section is created from free typing your competitors domains or uploading them via CSV
“Competitors: This identifies companies that follow or engage with content from your chosen competitors on social media.”
To populate this area of data you can simply free type the domains into the box when you press the edit button. Alternatively you can upload a CSV of your competitor domains
Keywords:
This section is created from free typing your competitors domains or uploading them via CSV
“Keywords: This identifies companies interacting with content on social media that contains your chosen keywords.”
To populate this area of data you can simply free type the keywords that you wish to track across social media. Best practice for this is to limit the words to one, two or three words and avoid long phrases. Hashtags also work really well in this section
Growing a department/ hiring:
This section is created from free typing the roles/ departments that you wish to track.
Hiring signals: This identifies companies who are hiring for specific roles that you have inputted. When new hires come into a company they often like to make changes.
Simply type in the roles that if a company were to be hiring that specific role(s) or growing departments. Thinking about what hiring signals could indicate growth or a buying signal for your company is best practice for this.

Events:
This section is created from free typing the events you wish to track
Events: This identifies companies who are attending and interacting with the specific events you have chosen to track.
Simply type in the event names or hashtags you wish to track into the blank box. The events name, domain or a trending hashtag will work best when configuring this section.
Funding Signals:
This section is created from a predefined list of growth signals
Funding: This identifies companies who have recently received investment. This indicates that these companies may be looking to purchase new products/services with these new funds..
Simply choose which Funding signal you would like to track.
