How to Build Web Forms
Creating and launching web forms effectively is essential for capturing leads and engaging with your audience. Web forms are designed to convert unknown visitors into leads and contacts by offering relevant content, offers, or sign-up forms that capture the visitor's interest. They consist of various fields customised to meet your business objectives.
Getting Started with Creating a Web Form
To get started, navigate to Website > Web Forms > Create.
You will be directed to the builder to start customising your web form. You will be prompted to give your campaign a name choose the additional campaign collaterals you want included with your Web Form.
Web Form Collaterals:
- Web Form: This includes the main form on your site.
- Post Entry Page: This displays a message confirming form submission and can offer additional calls-to-action.
- Autoresponder: This sends an automatic email response to the user after form submission.
Click Save & Continue to proceed to the design stage.
To start designing your web form, you can select a template from the design hub, click Manage, and then Use Template to start customising.
How to Customise your Web Form
- Hover over the yellow section and select the pencil tool icon to change the form's width.
- Use the Style tab to customise the form's background with a solid colour or an image.
- Add and edit form elements such as headers, images, links, and various form fields (contact, company, custom, and quick fields).
- Adjust the structure of your form fields to be side by side or stacked, using rows and columns.
- Once you have completed the design, select Save & Exit to finish.
Adding Features
The features functionality gives you the ability to control what happens after a prospect submits the form on your website.
- Lists: Add form submitters to a list for further remarketing.
- Pipeline: Choose whether form leads are sent to the sales pipeline, specify the pipeline stage, and assign an owner.
- Autoresponder: Set up the autoresponder email details.
- Notifications: Set up automatic notifications for your team when a new lead is registered.
- Scores: Assign a score to leads generated via the web form.
Publishing Your Form
When launching your web form, you can generate multiple launch codes to embed on different pages of your website.
This feature is particularly useful for advanced tracking, allowing you to see which specific web pages your form submissions are coming from. This can be especially beneficial if you are using a generic sign-up form across multiple pages, as it helps you identify which pages perform best.
To add multiple channels, select the “Create New Form Channel” button. Simply give it a name that will allow you to track which page it is being used on.
Generating the Form Code
To get the code for your form, you have two options:
- Basic Code: This option strips out the styles used in the builder, allowing the form to inherit the styles of your website. It ensures consistency with your website's overall design.
- Enhanced Code: This option retains all the exact styles you have applied in the builder, ensuring the form appears exactly as designed.
Embedding the Form
Once you have selected the type of code you prefer (Basic or Enhanced), you can embed the code on your desired web pages. By doing this, you can effectively track and analyse the performance of your form on different pages, gaining insights into which locations drive the most engagement and conversions.
